MASITHETHE June 2019

An update from CLC Education Support

We were very excited to receive the results of the ten pupils from Walmer High, Port Elizabeth, who wrote the 2019 National English Olympiad. All of the pupils passed the exam, with 2 Silver awards, 2 Bronze awards, 4 Merit awards, and 2 Participation awards being attained. Congratulations to the Walmer High Olympians and thank you to Colleen and Margot for guiding them through the preparatory workshops and for continuing to work with this group.

Keeping our Community in Prayer

Later this month, representatives from all the regions are meeting at Schoenies in PE for a Leadership Training Workshop. The workshop will provide time for engagement with CLC documents and training on practical matters such as community finance. Thanks are owed to the Jesuit Spirituality Fund for a grant that helped make this event possible. Please prayer for the leadership of our community during the workshop (20th – 23rd June). Please also keep members who are attending a retreat at Swellendam this month in your prayers for a gracefilled and life-giving retreat. Finally, some members are participating in SpiritFest down in Makhanda during the National Arts Festival. Let’s pray for a fruitful encounter with God and one another for all participating.
